What Humfrid does in Slack

• Ask in a direct message. Open Humfrid from Apps in Slack and ask about your company's plans, goals, decisions and sources. Humfrid answers in the DM, with links to where the answer came from in Humfrid.
• Ask in a channel. Mention @Humfrid in a channel it has been added to. It answers in the thread, so the channel stays readable.
• Learn from the channels you choose. An admin can turn on learning for specific public channels. In those channels Humfrid records decisions and learnings in its own words, with a link back to the message. It does not request access to private channels, and does not read channels it has not been added to.
• Get help. Send "help" to Humfrid at any time for what it can do and how to reach us.

What Humfrid reads and keeps

Humfrid reads only messages sent to it in a DM, messages that @mention it, and public channels an admin has turned learning on for. When it answers, it reads the conversation from Slack at that moment.

Your Slack messages stay in Slack. Humfrid does not keep the text of your Slack messages or of its replies. It keeps who wrote, when, a link to the message, and what it learned, in its own words. Messages in public channels you let it learn from are held only until they are processed (normally within an hour), and files you send it are saved to your workspace as documents. You can see and delete what Humfrid has learned about you in Humfrid.

No model training. Humfrid never uses Slack data to train AI models, and the model providers it uses process requests under terms that do not allow training. The providers are listed at humfrid.com/subprocessors.

Removing Humfrid. Uninstalling the app, or revoking its token, ends its access to your Slack workspace immediately. Details on what is deleted, and when, are in the Privacy Policy.

AI disclaimer

Humfrid's answers are written by AI models. They can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important against the linked sources before you act on it. Humfrid does not make consequential decisions on its own: actions that change something for someone wait for a person to approve them.

After you install

• Slack asks you to allow Humfrid in your workspace.
• You come back to Humfrid to sign in, or to create an account if you do not have one, and connect the Slack workspace to your Humfrid workspace.
• Open Humfrid from Apps in Slack and say hello, or send "help". Teammates can start a DM with Humfrid the same way.
